ECO-ENTREPRENEUR: young innovators for sustainability

Erasmus+ Training Course in Madrid — “Eco-Entrepreneur”

From the 1st to the 7th of March, 2026, three participants from Proutist Universal Malta joined a one-week Erasmus+ training course held in San Lorenzo de El Escorial, Madrid, as part of the KA153 Project “Eco-Entrepreneur.”

The training focused on eco-entrepreneurship, sustainability-driven business models, and circular economy principles, empowering youth workers to train, mentor, and support young people in developing their own green businesses and social enterprises.

Daily Overview

Day 1 — Getting Started
The program began with introductions and icebreakers to help participants get to know one another, followed by a brainstorming session. An eco-themed treasure hunt encouraged creative thinking and teamwork. The evening concluded with lively Hungarian and Italian intercultural nights.

Day 2 — Exploring Green Innovations
Each country presented two to three sustainable business models from their homeland. Participants then worked in small groups to develop and share their own eco-business concepts. The day ended with Maltese and Polish intercultural nights, celebrating cultural diversity with local food and drinks.

Day 3 — Storytelling and Media
The focus turned to storytelling and promotion. Participants learned how to “tell a story that sells” and created short video advertisements to promote their green business ideas. The afternoon was free, allowing everyone to explore and enjoy beautiful Madrid.

Day 4 — Crisis Management and Mentorship
Workshops explored crisis management for businesses and generated practical solutions. Discussions centred on how to become effective green mentors. The evening featured Spanish, Turkish, and Swedish intercultural nights, rounding out the cultural exchange.

Day 5 — Reflection and Closing
The final day was dedicated to sharing reflections, visions, and key takeaways. Participants agreed that collaborative group work fuels creativity, inspires innovation, and strengthens motivation, ultimately helping achieve greater success together.

This report highlights how international collaboration and experiential learning can empower youth workers to champion sustainability and green entrepreneurship within their communities.

Proutist Universal Malta is a partner organization with the applicant organisation,Europe NGO for the Erasmus+ training course ECO-ENTREPRENEUR: young innovators for sustainability co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union. The training course which was supposed to take place in Madrid, Spain on March 1 – 7, 2026 including travel days is postponed for the next year. Maximum 309 euros will be covered for travel cost with foods and accommodation with the host organisation Europe NGO. 3-4 participants from Malta will be selected.
